Ready Player Two ~Science Fiction
Elisha Halperin, 7th
Ready Player Two by Ernest Cline is an adult sci-fi novel about the Oasis. The Oasis is a multiplayer video game where players are virtual characters in the game. Shortly after the main character, Z became the C.E.O of GSS, a huge gaming company and owner of the Oasis, one of the non-playing characters, and Anorak, a fully autonomous A.I., locked every player wearing a newly released headset into the Oasis. Oh, did I leave out the part where 7 billion people have this new headset which has a limit of 12 hours before it causes permanent brain damage! My favorite part of this book is the bloody fight between Anorak and the great and powerful Ogden. Who will win this nerve-wracking fight? I recommend this book for teens because it is a sci-fi novel that mixes retro video games and a future high-tech world that is overpopulated and on the precipice of destruction. Warning: this book contains mature content, reader discretion is advised.

The book I read is called Framed!, by James Ponti. It is about a 12-year-old boy that worked for the F.B.I., whose name is Florian Bates. He works for his best friend, Margaret. He will try to use “T.O.A.S.T” (theory of all small things) to solve the greatest art heist of the century. Will he solve this case? This book is for those who enjoy mysteries. This is an amazing novel, and after you read this one, be sure to read the other books in this trilogy! The books in this series are Framed!, Vanished!, and Trapped! Warning: This novel contains a kidnapping, therefore permission to read this novel from a guardian/parent is advised.
The Odyssey ~Epic poetry
Yoav Tucker, 7th
The Odyssey is about a man named Odysseus, who, after the Trojan War, goes through many trials to get home. In the Odyssey, Odysseus is on a ship with his crew, trying to make their way to Ithaca, their home. On the way, they face Circe, who tries to turn them all into pigs, Calypso, who falls in love with Odysseus the siren, who falls in love with Odysseus, the sirens, who try to lure them into the sea, and the monsters Scylla and Charybdis. All the while his wife is being courted by suitors. My favorite part is when they are in the cave of Polyphemus the cyclops. Polyphemus eats a few crew members every day. Odysseus will come up with a pan, but how many will meet their fate before then? I recommend this book to anyone who likes action. It’s a thrilling adventure of coming home. It can be hard to understand and will take a while to get through, but the epic tale of Odysseus's Journey makes it worth it.
The Last Olympian ~Mythology
Hannah Tsinis, 6th
The book's title is The Last Olympian. It is funny, breathtaking, and heroic. This is the fifth book in the Percy Jackson series. The book begins when Camp Half-Blood is preparing for the Titan War. The enemy grows stronger compared to Camp Half-Blood. While the Olympians are distracted, the enemy's plan of taking over Mount Olympus has just begun. Will Percy and his fellow campers defeat the enemy, or will the world be overrun by evil? Read this book to find out! If you like mystery, suspense, or just a great book, you should definitely read the Percy Jackson series!
Hunger Games book 1 ~Dystopia
Miri Krasinski, 6th
The first book in the Hunger Games series is an amazing book. This book contains adventure and amazing characters. Sazzane Collins wrote this book with action. It was as if I was really there while reading. The book is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen. She was chosen to compete in a competition called the “Hunger Games.” The capital of her country hosts it to remind everyone what rebels get when they don’t behave. The competition is a life or death situation. My favorite part of the book is when Katniss goes to the Cornucopia to get supplies so she can save a character named Peetah. If you like action, then I recommend this book for you. It is also just an amazing book overall. It should be read by everyone!
